How's The Patient Doing?

Esther Marie is doing well today after the second hospital stay...but for much of the day, she was clingy and whining. (She is feeling better tonight and singing now as I write this!) She has had a slight fever, but it's less than 100. Her eating has picked up and she is drinking, but not enough yet. We are working on that. As I said in a post last night, I am exhausted...I feel like a total blob...no...a total emotional blob is a better description.

I focused on Emmie today, holding her and playing with her and that's about all...but that was what was important! I needed to make her feel secure....and hopefully, it helped. She has been laughing, which is good. Having the kids around helps...because she loves when they are here. Yesterday at the hospital when Dr. G came in to check on her, neither he nor I could get her to smile or even look up. But when Jasper walked into the room with our other kids, a huge smile exploded on her face and she lit up like a Christmas tree, squealing and jabbering away. She was SO excited to see them! Dr. G asked...so THIS is her real personality???? (laugh) Yeah!

Wonderful Miriam from our church has been emailing people to let them know what has been going on with us and letting them know how to pray. She has lined up some families who are going to bring us meals for a few days. I am still blessed by all the offers of help that we are receiving...from family, church friends, and even from a teacher at Joshua and MaryAlyce's school! I cannot say thank you enough!
