How About 27 Pieces of Sculpture?

Today is Jasper and my wedding anniversary....August 8th.....married 27 years. (Happy Anniversary, Sweetheart!) I guess it must not be a very important milestone year (according to the internet) because I looked around online to find out what the "traditional" gift idea was and the spot beside number 27 was blank. Is that the list writer's way of telling me I don't need to give him anything or did the person making the list just run out of ideas??? Perhaps I need to get in touch with Hallmark! We don't usually exchange anniversary gifts at this point in our marriage (neither one of us need anything) and I don't really want any more jewelry....not that I have drawers overflowing with the stuff, but I have more than enough. We just prefer to spend time together and have dinner out...with or without the kids. This year it will be with the kids since we won't be leaving Esther Marie with anyone yet while we go out.

Okay, back to the gift thing......the list I found did say that you could give a "modern" gift of sculpture. Hmmmmm.....not sure about that one. I guess I could head downtown to the art museum and borrow something, but I am sure they would frown at that idea. So where does one buy....sculpture??? Would that be just anything that looked sculptural....like a banana or an orange? Just kidding! I don't think Jay is into owning sculpture, so guess I'll just stick with dinner out and figure out a more personal gift for him that I don't have to buy....like...no kids in our bedroom for a night! (haha)

It seems hard to believe we have been married that long...the time has just flown by. We have had our ups and downs over the years, but through it all, we have had a lasting love that was formed during our six years of dating during high school and college....when we became "best friends". I cannot imagine my life without him and I know he feels the same way! God willing, we will have at least 27 more together......hopefully longer!
